How far should people go to tackle childhood obesity?
Submitted by DavidH on Thu, 01/05/2012 - 12:17pm. SciJourn
Recently, a group from Georgia began running ads to raise awareness of the realities and risks of childhood obesity. This ad campaign was organized in response to a series of surveys that found that most Georgia parents of obese children didn't realize their kids had a weight problem, or even think that childhood obesity was a serious problem, among other troubling findings.
So it seems right that a group of people should seek to raise awareness about the issue, right? But it's the ad campaign's frank, in-your-face methods that have been called into question.
Check out this article to learn more, and think about it for yourself- where do you draw the line when you're fighting to stop childhood obesity?

Today was a good day, I got a lot of work done. I'm almost finished with my voice over for world food day. The project is coming along, the photo story is done, and I just need to put the voice over with it. But other than that the day was pretty easy going.Guess that's all for now

Today at work...

Today was a very productive day of work, I got my second draft done on my Donald Danforth Article. World Food day was a pretty cool event to report on and I had the honor of going back for a second time. Its great seeing thousands of people come out to all support one cause together. I wish I could go to Africa to see how it affects the families over there.

Today was a good day mostly. Toni came back today after a long break away, and it was interesting to see her get back into the swing of things. Got a lot done on this World Food Day photo story so that's good. Basically it was just a day of work nothing truly exciting

Today was a pretty good day, I got the draft of my article done, I'm just ready to get the edited version back so I can make the changes and be done with my first article this fall. I just turned 18 the other day and I don't feel any older. Just feels like I'm one more step in the forest. You can never go all the way into the forest, you go half way in and then you're on your way out.

Today's Work
Submitted by Damonte001 on Sat, 10/22/2011 - 12:31pm. SciJourn
Today was a great day to work! Dave wasn't here and I feel like I got soo much work done. it's weird, normally i get work done and kinda slack when he's here, but today he was gone all day so I literally could've sat here and played games or something. I got so much work done with the video script and I may double up on the work and also do a written article. i realize that based on the questions and footage that Lamar and I collected we have enough for a lot of different stories that are all somehow linked to Donald Danforth Plant Science Center.
