Enjoyment of teaching at Compton Drew

I loved teaching the kids at Compton Drew. It was hard from time to time. But since I've been teaching for the Y.E.S. Program I've always loved this job. The reason why is because of the kids you teach.I think t's really fun. Some people might not agree with me but it's my opinion. Especially when we took the kids to the main Science Center building. I've done the Design It! component all summer.

Being a yes teen for the past two years has been fun and i will be coming back for next year and i hope to come back for the fall. I learned alot this summer and hope the kids i taught learned alot too

on friday we had a networking breakfast and we met some new people. I met a person named Charles Murphy and he basicaly does everything that i want to do when i get older so i know someone i can call or email for information on stuff. So i say the networking breakfast was a success.

Last week of teaching

Well, it was the last week we taught at Compton Drew. Today was the awards ceremony in which students were recognized for academics and for perfect attendance. The YES program was also recognized. Yesterday, Delamonta and I (mostly Delamonta) worked with two students in the Design It Curriculum who were writing a speech about the YES program. It was really fulfilling and a little surprising to see how much they enjoyed some of the activities and what they took from them. They performed their speeches today at the ceremony, which I unfortunately missed because I was running around looking for marbles for the marble machine they were supposed to demonstrate. A bunch of YES teens were also recognized for their work in the classrooms. It created some nostalgic feelings already - even though we have two weeks left in the program, we're done teaching and it seems like the last day of school all over again.

This week was kind of crazy, especially since we were making ice cream with essentially all of our classes. I had to drive two days in a row, which, most people know, is a strain for me. I've been running around getting materials, but at least I now know how to make ice cream at home. And doing teaching prep for ice cream is a bit hectic and incredibly messy. I think we've cleaned up our classroom twice this week, and we could definitely keep going.

the activity we did today was really interesting becuase the kids got more into than usual so that was really good and besides today was my birthday anyway so i guess they did more for me so that was relly nice.

workin at compton drew has been fun and i would do it again. I have had some problems with classes but ive had some good classes too.
