2nd week.

Astronomy
This first week of teaching has been great. I enjoy teaching the kids. I'm also really excited about starting the outdoor inquiry project. I just hope we get our materials next Monday so we can start right away. I have some interest for farming and willing to learn more about it. I'm actually looking forward to coming to work next week. It only gets better from here.

Today we worked on our independent side projects. I am doing "Hot Topics" which is researching current events in Astronomy or Climate Change. Right now I am doing mine on the Transit of Venus, which is an eclipse of sorts. I'm making a prezi, and you'll probably get to see it. -Malik C

Light Pollution

Astronomy
Today in astronomy, we went over the activities that we will have to do for next week. My group (group A) is going to do an activity that discusses the characteristics of life. It should be fun. In our other group, Light Pollution, we talked about the ideas that we have for our topic. We want to create a poster to advertise the website GlobeAtNight. I had fun working with my groups today, and next week should be fun... :-)

Today we prepared for next weeks activities with the kids and we also started to plan tests for outdoor inquiry. Tyra and I are testing the drinkability of the water from the pond that is outside of the science center. We also learned new activities to do with new kids and I hope they enjoy them next week.

mission control

Astronomy
This week was cool, it was fun working with the kids. I like mission control the most. Working with flight simulators is fun, easy, and the visitors enjoy it. I have to show the kids how to control the simulator.

We started teaching this week on monday and tuesday. The activities we did were a scavenger hunt and planet related activities. We learned new activities for next week that I am ready to teach.
