Research Project
Submitted by cayla001 on Sat, 05/11/2013 - 11:17am. Neuroscience
Today we worked on our research projects. my research project is an oreo cookie test. the point of the experiment is to see if people can differentiate between different types of oreo cookies only using their sense of taste and smell. we we're going to use two different types of oreo such as original and doubled stuff to see if there is really a difference in the taste among ages between 5 to 30 years old. we didn't get a chance to collect data on our projects but i feel it was going to be a very wonderful experiment.

Teaching Hardships and Triumphs
Submitted by breya001 on Sat, 05/11/2013 - 10:41am. Mystery of Matter
Teaching may look like its easy but believe me it is not! Well it depends on how you look at it because I truly am not the "let's scream at the top of our lungs to be heard" type it just isn't me, I'm more of the "let's be civil and talk face-to-face like we are actually belong to the human race" type. But it is very fun too learn something new and teach it to some one else that grasps the subject very nicely it make one proud like a mother bird seeing her runt of the little soar higher than its siblings.
On that note there is also a dark side to teaching kinda like the black sheep effect, its there but no one wants to talk about it. Everyone should know this side of teaching because everyone has taught weather you realize it or not. The dark side where you put so much effort into learning it and putting it together only for it to be unwanted and destroyed.
No matter where you end up today on the good-side, the bad-side, the pretty or the ugly, there's always a way to make a difference tomorrow.

The Hardest Part of Teaching Science
Submitted by tyler001 on Sat, 05/11/2013 - 10:22am. Mystery of Matter
I would have to say the hardest part of teaching science would be making up activities for the students to understand. Making up activities and games in general can be a hard task but making it related to science, makes it even more complicated. Once you actually accomplish it, you feel relieved because you were able to do it.

Hardest Thing About Teaching Science
Submitted by cayla002 on Sat, 05/11/2013 - 10:19am. Mystery of Matter
Today I was asked what's the hardest thing about teaching science. My response to that is not understanding what you're teaching or the people you're teaching doesn't comprehend what you're teaching. For instance, if you don't understand what you're talking about then how do you expect anyone else to understand? Have you ever noticed someone in the audience that you're talking to have a blank expression on their face? Well I have, and it was really hard to get them engaged in the conversation because they didn't know what we were talking about.
