Summer 2012

It is hard to believe that summer break is coming to an end. This summer was many things--fun, challenging, at times, tiring, and by far one of the most memorable. Not only did I get the chance to meet some of the most genuine and caring people here at YES, but I was also able to befriend them and get to know them in depth. Through the past five weeks, my co-workers and I have developed a closeness that cannot be disrupted by the occasional disagreements and clashes in opinions; we have learned to work through it, to compromise, or even agree to disagree. Personally, I have learned so much through the program, especially from our supervisor and my co-workers who have taught me much more than what can be learned from a textbook. It has been an absolute pleasure working alongside my co-workers--friends,peers, confidants, brothers and sisters--overcoming challenges together, laughing together, playing together, and learning together. I will always cherish the memories of this summer at YES.
