My Journey at YES :)

Summertime Science has been a wonderful program. I'm stepping out of my element and being more open-minded to other's opinions. When I first started here, my first thought was, how would I respond to the children who i will be teaching here. So far, i have a done a great job, I am more patient and one to the children who come here. My co-workers are a big help and they always say, " Sherrica just smile and think positive thoughts." I love Summertime Science: Plant life because it teaches you the basics of what a plant need in order to survive. The big topic in my component is "photosynthesis." For me, its a great subject to learn about because i love science personally. Overall, I love this program because i have been able to meet new people from different backgrounds,I'm interacting with new people, and teaching new children at the same time. My biggest supporter here at the YES program was my supervisor Deshaunya because she always encouraging me to do my best and she always gives me pep talk when I need it. I look at her as a big sister because she reminds me of my own sister, she never judges me and she always telling me how to go about things in which will not only benefit me but also others around me. Deshaunya is the best and I love her. She's a big influence to me and also others in my component. I appreciate everything that she does for us and It wouldn't be fun if we didn't have her around. I love the YES program because not only am i able to teach others but I'm also learning from those around me. I look forward to working here each and every summer.
