wow what has really happened since i have left you...

YES

I am very dissapointed to say that the recent layoffs have been very unforgivable. The fact that my favorite supervisors, the ones who taught me so much are gone and now the simplicity of their teaching strategies may be gone as well. I feel that the ones that are gone were the best and I'm not saying the remaining bunch are not up to my expectations but I believe you have deprived the youth from being around very energetic and talented individuals who make learning fun. Furthermore you have eliminated the most expierienced workers who have been in this longer than most so they acting as role models to the new supervisors... I just hope that this decision made by the higher ups was the best decision...

Derrick,It's good to hear from you. We're all struggling to adjust to the recent changes here at the Science Center. Those of us still here on staff miss our colleagues and are trying our best to fill their roles. It's been great to see the outpouring of support that both current and alumni YES teens have for the supervisors in this program. I think it really speaks to the positive impact youth workers can have with students when they are fully present, caring, and responsible adults. I hope you can keep in contact with those supervisors who made such a positive impact in your life as both you and they move on to new things. I'm sure they would love to hear from you too.
