Today, i did research on what im going to write about next. I will explain with reliable sources, how GPS works and how onstar works. Most people think that if you get a GPS reciever, that since you can see your location, you can also be tracked down from satellite. But that is not true, GPS recievers only work passively and do not send out information but only recieve it. therefore if someone steals your GPS you wont be able to track it. OnStar has both GPS and Cellular Communication. The GPS gets the location of the car, then uses cellular communications to send the location to the company.
