If You Were new at YES

This is my fourth week at the YES program, so I'm going to tell you how it has been. The first week I felt lonely ,scarred,out of my comfort zone, and extremely nervous. In all that when I stopped being ridiculous I found that people where nice and welcoming. At the first instant people knew I was new; I sat in the back, wasn't in uniform and I wasn't talking all extreme indicators that I, Ligaya was the new kid in a sea of teens who have been here a long time while I in my case, was my first day. My first day was very interesting I was an observer and a participator.Everyone and I mean everyone engaged me in conversation at least once(in my component and college prep class) and semi intirigated me on my personal information the classic who are you, where are you from, what school do you go to, and why are you here. Our day is broken up into a schedule, first your high school grade freshman, sophmore, junior senior and you do college prep. Then you do journaling; for the 4 times I have attended that seems to be one of the times when people can write what is on their mind is ll expressive aspects. After we have our break we go to our components, I am in Science After School, and on my first day we did an experiment in which we mixed dyes and tried to make other colors out of three different colors blue,red,and yellow. After the experiment we left with a better knowledge of Independent and dependent varibles. For the last fifteen minutes of the day we do our self evaluations, to be honest I was shocked I had never seen that before and I believe that will make teens grow and mature. For the second day we went to the main building(the Science Center) and we went to the science expo thta was interesting every bit. We listened to a speaker from Great Britain about the worlds biological state and zoos and what they are doing. My third day we wrote our blogs and started to type them as yuo can see I didn't get my turn until today; but all in all that' how my first couple of weeks at YES has been I hope it has shined some light for some people.
