the equipment is the flint striker. it is used to light an alcohol lamp. safety rules that you need to follow is dont be playing with the striker if you arent using it at the time. you may use a flint striker if you are using a alcohol lamp to heat up mixtures. the flint striker can be use with the burner as well as the alcohol lamp. the alcohol lamp can be use with the apparatus also known as a support stand. once the alcohol lamp is lite you can put the support stand over the flames and place a flask of a beaker with a solution on top.

we started doing experiments on how do maggots form we recently discovered that maggots are produced only by flies. i thought that they come out of the burgers. one other thing that we learned is that mold is formed by the damp conditions of the evvironment and tem at about 80 degrees. mold is an organism too it needs food, water and light to grow. so we have taken our exmerint LIVE BURGERS to a different level in the formation of mold and maggots and how long it takes for it to grow
Start: 2:34 pm
Today we got alot of results from the last log in. We found out about many thing about these crazy (nasty) hambugers. We havr more observations from diff. colors to mold,to evaporation. Right now were are on a new experiment with the buger and a like shining on it & another one with the burger and a fan blowing it. We have alot of great idea's every week & when every body is here ,& that means we get feed back from each person 7 that goes to many great idea's. Next week should be very productive b/c we will have alot to observerd with our 2 new experiments that we have started. Well im out ..peace

The Youth Volunteers will be heading to the Chatillon-DeMenil Mansion for the annual "Death and Mourning in the 19th Century" event. The volunteers will help with refreshments and other duties, and then they will get to attend the lectures and activities. There will be exhibits and speakers on such topics as women's mourning practices and cemetery and geneology research. All proceeds from this Halloween event will help to maintain the mansion, which is an historic house museum. The website for the foundation is www.demenil.org.
