the hike

Biodiversible Teens
On saturday was  the Big hikeing trip for the biodiversible Teens. The only thing that I did not like about the trip was that it was very cold outside and we did not get to see to many animals out there but other than that it was a pretty good experiance. My favorite part of the whole trip was the diffrent water holes we saw in the park and the good thing about the water holes was that they were not man made. i thought that was pretty cool it almost felt like you were in a rain forest or something with all those trees. we also saw alot of plants and we had a book with us that had information on some of the plants that grow in st.Louis

Hi Vincent,

I really love the affinity you have for water, I am sorry I interrupted you staring at the pond today when we were in Forest Park.  I would like to know what you love most about water.  Maybe you could write poems about the different kinds of "water holes" we see.  Also What role do you think the water plays in the forest ecosystem we visited at the Chubb Trail?  This might be a researchable question...that includes: What lives in the water there? How does the water shape the land, How does water move across the landscape?  Maybe you have a future in Hydrology!

I would also be interested in you spending concentrated time watching water and observing it, using all your senses, until you come up with something YOU really want to know about water, that you could investigate through inquiry.  Maybe you could devise an inquiry for the kids this summer using water.  What do you think?
