Learning Places

Today at Girls Inc. morgan was hard to control. She wasn't focused as much as she used to be. She kept playing with her friends and was mad when I  told her it was time to write down what she'd learned today. Overall it was a hard day. I will continue to work with Morgan on her listening and working skills. She loves the investigations though, It's just hard for her to stay focused.

Romiyus, I know how difficult it can be to work with a student who has trouble staying focused. I'm glad you are up to the challenge of helping her stay on task. I've found that actively participating with students while they're working on their projects can help them stay focused. Also asking lots of questions about each step of the activity can help as well. I hope the advice was helpful. Gơod luck!

Romiyus, I know what you mean when you say that about Morgan. I was sitting right there, and she is very smart, I think she just gets distracted by the people around her at times. One thing that may help might be giving her a more thorough explanation of the investigation than what we give to everyone else, so you might want to try that next week.
