What Was It Like Flying A Plane?
Submitted by Rachel001 on Fri, 08/10/2007 - 3:58pm. Flight SchoolAll this week I have been learning on a similator, which was almost realistic and accurate as flying a actual plane. The simulator helped me feel comfortable and gave me enough understanding that I needed to fly a real plane. Today I actually took of into the air by my self, well there was a licenced pilot in the passanger seat next to me just in case. I flew around for about thirty minutes, the plane actually flew it self so i didn't have to do too much concentrating. As i was flying I looked around on the ground and everything looked sooo small. I was two thousand feet above the ground! Finally I reached another air port where i landed. My landing was really smooth. I only had one week of training but I give my self an A+ because i did "an excellent job" that's what the licenced pilot told me. Afterwards i took pictures in the plane and out side of the plane. I had fun and it was a great experience and i wouldn't mind doing it again.
The Feild Trips So Far
Submitted by Rachel001 on Mon, 07/16/2007 - 1:53pm. Saint Louis Public SchoolsSo far us Y.E.S. Teens have been on a few interesting trips. On our frist feild trip we went to the Black Rep and watched a play called Guys and Dolls. The plot was about gambling and soul searching. It was very funny. On another feild trip we went to the zoo, and i have learn alot of cool facts, for instance, did you know that trees were first formed in the ocean. We also took trips to Tower Grove Park, the St.Louis science Center, and tomorrow we are undecided of where we want to go, but I am sure that we will have fun any where we go.

I Can't Wait
Submitted by Rachel001 on Thu, 07/12/2007 - 1:32pm.I have just been informed that my group will be going on college visits with options of visiting multiple colleges. I am excited because this is a great oportunity for me to obtain some sort of idea of what college I will like to attend, if i choose to go to a college in Missouri. I like the fact that the St.Louis Science Center present us teens with opportunities that could help better our future. I don't know if the Y.E.S. teens say thank you enough for all of the great experiences that we have been given by the Science Center, but I just want it to be known that I am extremely appreciative for everything the Science Center has done, because even though I am here on a job, it really doesn't feel like it because I am having fun and I'm learning at the same time. I CAN'T WAIT to go on these college visits because I haven't been on any yet, and I am undecided on where i would like to go.
