Reflection On Our Trip to Adams

Learning Places
At Adams Today we taught a group of 8 year olds about optics. The activty was fun but my child did not enjoy it. It seemed like everytime I tried to get her to do something in order to get ingaged into the activity she would turn away and talk to someone else I was getting a little mad but I did'nt take it out on her, because it was'nt her fault. So I hpoe I can do better in controling my child and her likes and dis-likes better next time.

Hey Paul! I'm sure you understand the feeling of being uninterested in something and how frustrating it can be. However, you are on the right track. What is your student interested in? Can you learn something about her that would help you connect better with her (i.e. what in her life does she utilize optics?) Well, in any case, you're doing great this summer. Learning places is very lucky to have you. Can't wait for you next blog.

Hey Paul, You did good work today, sometimes there's not much that you can do if your child isn't interested but keep trying. I'm also glad that you thought the activity was fun and interesting; when you guys think that, it makes it a lot easier to teach the activity to the younger kids as well.
