Today, we worked with bubbles, Cauldron bubbles, to be exact.  The materials we used are -clear cup, -water, -oil, -salt, -food coloring.  We filled half a cup up full of water and tried our own experiment with the rest of the materials.  It was fun and some people saw something new that they never saw before.  We used to do this type of stuff in elementary school.  The food coloring seperates the different materials used in the experiment.  It also makes it more interesting and a better viewing site. 

This was a really great experience.  I feel even more comfortable with entering the medical field.  When I graduate from college, I would like to become a chiropractor.  NOSA had a good presentation and let me know exactly what they stood for and what they do.  I didn't know who they were or had never heard of them beforehand.  I'm glad they came, so I could ask questions about why they entered the field they entered, what under-grad school they went to, and how the experience was.

Today, during College Prep, we discussed names.  What is the origin of our names and what do they mean? I couldn`t find what my first name and last names meant, but I did find what my middle name meant.  Danielle means judged by God.  I thought that was really interesting to find out.  We also discussed how do different cultures name their children.  The culture I have to research was the Russians.  The Russians name their children by first name ..middle name (father`s name) , last name (family name).

 

FiRST 0FF.. .WE LEARNED AB0UT DiSABLED PE0PLE & THEiR NEEDS.  H0W THEY GET AR0UND EVERyDAy.  H0W THEy FEED & DRESS THEMSELVES. BASiCALLy HOW THEy LiVE EVERyDAy.  iT WAS VERy iNTERESTiNG BECAUSE i HAD NEVER MET A BLiND PERS0N BEF0RE.  iT WAS S0 NEAT T0 L00K AT A LiFE THR0UGH A BLiND PERSON'S EyES F0R A BRiEF M0MENT.  THE SPEAKER WAS A VERY NiCE AND SMART LADy.  SHE SH0WED US STUFF & iTEMS i HAD NEVER LEARNED 0R KNEW iN MY ENTiRE LiFETiME.  SHE DiDNT NEED ANY HELP.  SHE WAS VERY HANDY & G0T THiNGS D0NE ALM0ST AT THE SAME SPEED AS A PERS0N WH0 CAN SEE.  SHE MAY HAVE BEEN PHYSiCALLy HANDiCAPPED BUT N0T MENTALLy.

SEC0NDLy.. .WE ALWAyS HAD GUEST, WHETHER THEy WERE SPEAKERS 0R iNTERACTiNG WiTH US.  WE HAD S0ME TEENS FR0M NEW MEXiC0.  THEY WERE iN THE EXPL0RA PR0GRAM AND THEy DEAL WiTH SCiENCE ALS0.  THEY WERE VERY NiCE AND S0CiAL. WE W0RKED AS A TEAM AND BUiLT SAND CASTLES.  WE WERE iN TEAMS S0 iT WAS A C0MPETiTi0N.  EVEN TH0UGH MY TEAM DiDNT WiN, WE HAD FUN JUST BUiLDiNG THE CASTLE.  WATER WAS SUPP0SED T0 MAKE THE SAND STAY UP, BUT iNSTEAD MADE THE SAND FALL D0WN!  THiS WAS A 0NCE iN A LiFETiME EXPERiENCE.  JUST SEEiNG THE SMiLES AND EVERYB0Dy LAUGHiNG....Y0U W0ULD THiNK WE WERE ALL CL0SE FRiENDS ALL FR0M THE SAME CiTy.

WE HAD AB0UT 4 BREAKS, [N0W THAT`s WHAT i`M TALKiNG AB0UT!!] 

0UR LAST ACTiViTy WAS W0RKiNG iN GR0UPS TRyiNG T0 FiT 0N A PiECE 0F CONTSTRUCTi0N B0ARD. WE WENT FR0M DiFFERENT SiZES UNTiL WE ENDED UP STANDiNG  0N A N0TEB00K AND THEN A C0MP0SiTi0N B00K!\\

iT WAS HARD BUT FUN.  THE LAST THiNG WE HAD T0 D0 WAS THEE WH0LE GR0UP STAND 0N A MEDiUM SiZE 0F C0NSTRUCTi0N B0ARD. iT WAS DiFFiCULT, BUT VERy FUN.  WE WERE CRACKiNG UP THEE WH0LE TiME. L0L.

Today, was okay,but i am going to be honest..it wasn't fun at all!
