My Expericne on Science Corner
Submitted by Kim001 on Sat, 04/24/2010 - 12:09pm. YESAs a teen working on science corner, I have experienced alot of new things. Everytime we go out to science corner we make an effort to improve it, either cleaning the garden up or planting things. So far we have planted cucumbers, pickels, sun flower seeds, corn, tomoatos, garlic, and many other things. After growing all of these things, we eat them, or either come up with ways to be creative with the the different things that we grow. I enjoy working on scienced corner just as much as I enjoy eating the fruits and vegetables we grow. Being in this group is a good experience because it's hands on and we journal and write about the things that we grow and eat. The fun part about it is that we can grow things that we like to eat.

Submitted by Kim001 on Sat, 03/29/2008 - 3:51pm. Biodiversible TeensToday my group and I explored the outside nature. We went to a variety of gardens. Most of the flowers were dead. We had talk about the gardens being a good habitat for the birds, while discovering different living things and different non-living things. From my point of view some of the gardens that we look at were not places that birds would live in because it was alot of dead flowers, there was no water and it was to human. I think that birds would want to live in a habitat were flower are living and were there are trees. I Know that the gardne may look dead now because we are still in winter moving on to spring. I also think that the gardens can be a habitat for the birds in the futur. Our next project envolves designing a garden that we explored today. We plan on attracking people as well as animals.

Going to the Botanical Gardens
Submitted by Kim001 on Tue, 03/11/2008 - 6:08pm. Biodiversible TeensToday I went to the botanical gardens with the Outdoor Community gardens. it was very fun and adventurous. by looking at the flowers and the plants, you can tell that alot of them were still dead, dbeacuse of he cold temperatures. some of the plants that i saw was a chinese juniper, lambs ears, and a snow drop, also known as the christmas flower. it is called the chriistmas flower because it is white and even though it is the winert and normaly flowers dont grow as much, this flower grew, it grows ous out of the snow, thats why they call it a snow drop. some of the flowers that i noticed today was the camelia, tasmania tree ferm, baby tears, sheild fern, farfugium, japanese holly fern, begonia, boston fern, sping star-flower, cylomen, rex begonia, and the chocalate flower. i also saw a couple of birds like the robin bird. I saw two ducks, one male and one female. the male ducks are usally green and they have a little black outline. the females are brown, they most likely are bigger than the males.
