Today's ice breaker

Learning Places

Today's icebreaker was supposed to enhance our teamwork, cooperation, will to compromise etc . . . Our supervisors gave us small cards with sign-language hand signals and brail. They also gave us a sentence ,written in brail, that we had to translate into written language. Honestly, I dont think this was the best icebreaker in the world lol. We didnt have enough info to work with.

b   ut i guess it was o.k.

Hi Colin,

I am really happy that you feel comfortable enough to critique an activity that we organize.  One the goals we have for our facilitation and learning lab time is to begin having coversations about what works, what doesn't work, and why things do or don't work...

Thank you for being honest about your experience of the activity.  I look forward to hearing your response to Meesa and Felix's questions.

Hi Colin,

Yes, the exercise was a way to enhance cooperation and compromising skills, but what was the big picture? Why was this exercise important? ELC?

Colin,

This activity was not meant to be an icebreaker...I agree that it is not good for breaking the ice. :)  It was meant to be a challenge and team builder.  What type of information would you have liked to have?  Why do you think it was too challenging?
