Challenges And Activities

Learning Places
Today, we first started off with introduction to plants and evolution. That later on, lead to an activity where we had to make our own plant. I drew a picture of a Marlo Plant, which i named because i drew marlos head on the plant. Then he wanted join me in making the plant together. So we worked together on making our own plant. Then we built it with materials in the room. It looked very interesting, we used the balloon as the head, then the leafs were made of paper. Then later on we did an activity where groups of 3 had to stay on a piece of paper. We started out with a big sheet of paper which was easy to do then the paper got to notebook size. When it got that small we had to cary each other or something  like that. Thats what we did.

Hi Ariel,

Here is a photo of you working on the Marlow Plant.  It seems like you might have just enough leaves to support such a large flower, and your stem is good and strong, and it also looks like it photosynthesizes.  I wonder about your roots though are they extensive enough to keep such a tall plant stable and well nourished with water and minerals?

Hey Ariel,

I thought the Marlow Plant was pretty neat. Were there any limitations to your design process? You seemed to have finished it pretty quickly.

Ariel,

Why did you make a Marlow plant?  What makes a plant a Marlow plant and what was the purpose of you making a plant out of materials?
