Big Chicken

YES
Last week was very interesting. Although every week is usually crazy, there was one element that made it even more crazy... big chickens. After being away from the chickens for about 3 weeks, we came back to see that they were about 5 times bigger than when we last saw them. The whole experience was hectic, because it seemed as if everybody was scared of them, including me. After playing with them for awhile I started to get back to being comfortable with them. Hopefully they don't grow to much more, because I do not like big animals. Until then... I love em!

Times In Agriscience

Agriscience
This year, the Agriscience component has been both fun and difficult. We've been working on many things, most of which that has been about food locally grown. One of the most fun things for me, was when we our component went to Eckert's Farm. This was fun for me, because it showed me how the process of agriculture flows in the process of the overall food industry. I also enjoyed the time we received our chickens. We received chickens because besides agriculture we are also studying chickens and their overall lifestyle. One thing that was difficult for me was all the experiments we do with plants. This was difficult for me, the plants and process of "Photosynthesis" is not as exciting to me. Beside that, it appears that Agriscience is gonna be very fun this year and I definitely can't wait to do more.

Project...?

YES
So today I did my project, which was making crystals out of maple sugar. It was kind of a fail because the project turned to granulated sugar, but I guess that's just part of being a scientist. Its funny how even though I failed it was fun. Better Luck Tomorrow!

Work...

YES
Lately we have had so much work. This project has been pretty stressing and at the same lengthy. I know I'll do okay but... I just wants to be done. Ohh outside sucks too :(

Busy Day!

YES
Well there wasn't much done outside today, but we did a lot inside. For the most part I just did paperwork with my AgriScience project. Ughhh Busy Day!

Heats, Plants, Bugs... OH MY!

YES
AgriScience has been quite the component. Throughout the last two weeks we've been working on many things that have been both fun but also challenging. One of my personal favorites was making ice cream. Its one of those things you have to put a lot of work into but once its done ITS AMAZING! We basically took the different ingredients of ice cream, put them in a bag, put that bag in a bag of ice and salt, and shook it. It got tiring after awhile, but it was fun, perfectly demonstrated food science, and showed how so many things go in to make something as simple as like ice cream. There were also some challenges. One of my biggest challenges with this component has been working on Science Corner. On Science Corner we garden in order to grow different plants and again demonstrate food science. Even though the whole being outside is refreshing the working in the dirt thing isn't really my "things." But... I guess that's just life, hopefully it gets better.

Jared + Ligaya = Book/Butterflies/Mating By Hand

YES
Okay, so today, in C3, we got books to learn about the butterfly project that we hope to start in the summer. It was pretty fun because we learned tons of things such as the fact that there are 725 species of butterflies in the world, according to the Butterflies of the World. We also learned one very interesting/disgusting fact about mating butterflies by hand. This is something that is usually done by a human and is very close to artificial insemination (EWWWWWWWW!!!!). Anyway tons of fun today, and hope for the best next time.
