Quote Of The Day

So I am at the Taylor building and we are reading this quote. By this man named Albert Camus, it stated "NOBODY REALIZES THAT SOME PEOPLE EXPEND TREMENDOUS ENERGY MERELY TO BE NORMAL".

It made some real sense to me, because in my generation people in our schools and our everyday lives strive to be someone that they are not. So when it comes to them trying to be "NORMAL" it a different way that you as a person looks at it. Because in my case I love to listen to Gospel,Rock, Metal, Retro, and Pop, once and awhile I listen to rap, hip hop and r&b. But people say that is not "NORMAL" but I am my own person and I love to listen to what ever I want to listen to and I think that in my mind I am "NORMAL" if that means in my own way then yes I couldn't be happier. I Just don't like that you people send there whole lives trying to be something that they are not or something that they wish they could be born like. Even though this dude Camus was wired himself he was himself and also didn't understand why people wanted to be so much like everyone else because they think it will get them somewhere farther in life of because they think it will make them a better likable person.

Good-Bye for now

Today is the last day of the spring semester ... Oh my gosh this was a very good experience to be working in the lab with some people that I know and some people that I didin't know. I had a really good time doing experiments and working with new things. All of the things we did in the lab I will take with me in life and in the work field and I am really looking forward to seeing all my peers in summer

Having a ball with milk

We mixed different milks (skim milk and Whole milk) then after putting them in there own container and we heated up and we strinned the milk, vinger and some water. Now after we done all of that we just let them die into glue...

Lipid Lab

Today on this wonderful day in the Saint Louis Science Center City Science Lab we experimented on fats and how there are so many in the foods we eat.

So we tested Chocolate and Sun Flower Seed and even your favorite Potato Chips. But anyway will doing this lab I had to (hammer) the different types of materials that we were using and then we microwaved them and we poured acetone in perti dishes and checked on them and recored the last and final results.

It was a great lab but please don't try it at home at all EVER..
Jelly Lab

Today in City Science B (LAB) we did a experiment named Jelly Lab. We as a group Desire'e, Nick, Gemecia, and Antonio learned how to make jelly. The whole point of the lab today was to see how the amount of sugar can determine how the jelly tastes.

There were many steps that we had to follow make our jelly alsome....

Step 1: We had to gather all of our materials needed to do the experiment.

Step 2: we filled the 3 graudated cylinder with exactly 60 ml of water.

Step 3: Get 3 cups doesn't matter if the cups or small or big, glasses or plastic, fill all three with different amount of sugar. 1st cup should with 53 grams, 2nd cup 26, and the last cup should be 106 gr.

Step 4: Get a can opener and punch/ poke a whole on each side of the cans(pinapple, apple vege. or etc.) then pour the juice in the 3 beakers you have .

Step 5: Get the heating plate or pad and watch or wait for the juice to boil.

Step 6: before the juice starts to boil make sure you measure the sure-jell and that should come out to be about 7 grams in each beakers.

Step 7: Every now and then while and before it starts to boil make sure you stir it with either the spoon or wooden things you may have to stir it with.

In Teens

Well I learned that poeple of all race and differnet schools can work together as a group. We did a get to know each other thing and it was pretty good, I mean I was the only one that was really working in my group but hey building those towers out of index cards were pretty easy when you did them on your own. While doing this I also learned that if you work together you can accomplished your dreams and then the communties we live in will be a much better place...

I feel that it was a great experince and that I would love to do it again and meet new people

Fire Safety

Last week was our first day back from our winter break. And we are now in the City Science lab, it is pretty cool so far. After getting to know were everything in the lab was located we had a special guess named captain McNeal from the fire department. He talked to us about what to do in case of a chemical goings wrong in the lab then he gave us the process of using the fire extinguisher which was PASS and it means Pull Aim Squeeze and sweep. After learning about that we did a activity out on the back were he showed us the way to put out the fire. So we made a fire and then before the extinguisher broke we used PASS to put the fire out properly. I had great first week bad and I hope to have even more fun doing things in the lab.

Story Boarding and The Human Body Movie

What I have accomplished during the story boarding is that it is easier than just trying to the what ever it is that you are doing. Working with a partner was a different experience for me and it was a great thing and our book turned out to be well done. When the book is finished, I would like it if everyone would read the real art of the Reproductive System, and everything that it has to offer.

While watching the Human Body movie. I not only learned more things about the human body, but I learned a little more things that I felt would help me a little more on my book. The Human body is a wonderful thing for the people who don't know that. There are muscles and bones that we use everyday and don't even know. Also the movie talkied about how the different systems interact with one another.

Going deep inside the Reproductive System

Last week we started sketching the frist ten pages of our book. My group is doing the reproductive system, but we are going very deep into it. We are talking about the genes and the way you grow from the traits that you receive from your parents.

If you are wondering why there is a picture has nothing but eye, will it is is because eyes are another trait that you recieve from your parents. For instance if you are Asian you may have different shaped eyes and or diiferent color eyes.

The Muscles and Bones

Did you know that there are many bones and muscles in your arm? Well last week in City Science we learned about the "Hummerus" which is the largest bone in the arm. There are a lot of smaller bones and muscles in the arm that people didn't really know about, like the "Radius" and the "Ulna". Also did you know that the bone that connects the shoulder is called "Ball & Socket Joint" and the risk was called the "Hinge joint". Speaking of the risk there are 8 bones in the hand and the connect to the finger(s).

Whi
